Phyllida Barlow discusses her life as a sculptor
Following Phyllida Barlow’s triumph as this year’s British Council Commission at the Venice Biennale, for which she created her vast installation Folly, she joins Frieze Editorial Director, Jennifer Higgie to discuss her life as a sculptor and her commitment to being an artist.
The conversation will explore her career, practice and desire to test sculpture, as well as the transformation of her career in the last decade, from working as a professor at London’s Slade School of Art, where she taught artists such as Rachel Whiteread, to filling Tate Britain’s Duveen Galleries in 2014, and going on to have several solo shows with international gallery Hauser & Wirth.
